Wellness Wednesday ~ Fuel for my body

My base chakra is overactive. I am addicted to carbohydrates.

Physically I am overweight, and this leaves me feeling lethargic and heavy. I am not comfortable with my body image.

So, I am embarking on a journey. A beautiful, self-empowering and life enhancing journey.

Today I made a commitment to myself ~ I am only going to eat foods which are good for me.

No more short cuts and fast food.

Only foods which are nutritious, fresh and where possible organic.

I love myself enough to start eating healthy.

Good for you, Mich! I feel your empowerment from here!! I too have been on this nutritional roller coaster for quite some time. When you think about it, healthy eating is definitely in our grasps. It's a lifestyle. It's a new way to embrace eating. If you haven't done so already, I highly advise to take a chunk of time and totally clean out the pantry and refrigerator. If the "bad" stuff isn't there, you just can't eat it.

I'm right with you on the carb addiction!! They leave me feeling lethargic and bloated, yet they are always (or seem to be) the closest thing to hand to make a meal out of! I find not having them in the house helpful but with tow children in the house that's hard. I switched to non wheat pasta and having porrige instead of toast for breakfast helps (a little!) and when baking using gluten free flour. It's a whole new learning curve in eating and while it can be daunting / frustration - you quickly feel the benefits!

I too am addicted to carbs...but then I'm addicted to food in general! lol

What a positive affirmation, "I love myself enough to start eating healthy."

I wish I had such will power! lol...but, cookies call my name, I swear they do! hehehehe

Getting off fast food is a great idea and you don't have to sacrifice flavour and great taste because you're not going out. If you cook the food yourself, you can indulge here and there. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! Good luck with your healthy journey and cheers to you.

You've passed on your empowerment to me Mich! I also strive to stay with the nutritious foods and understand exactly where you are with body type. If you can pick it, eat it!! Here's to nourishing all aspects of ourselves in a healthy, loving manner.
