Wise words from Black Elk

I am so blessed. I met a woman from New Zealand who channels Black Elk, and she had a message for me:

You are the one with the giving heart
blessings will be yours
But do not forget
to nurture yourself
to love yourself
as you would others
to walk in nature
experiencing your deep connection
with the Oneness of all

It seems a waiting time for you
all will come to you
Do not feel you need to seek
just wait for what it is you need
it will come to you
You know how Spirit works
do not be afraid to ask
for what it is you need

This message sang to my soul. It reverberated through my very being. And I have taken heed of these wise, wise words. Running myself ragged trying to be all things to too many people, I found that I had spread myself too thin.

I am blessed to have receive this message, and I am honouring it by making some changes in my life. To put myself first - my health, my fitness, my well-being, and my happiness.

I stand in my own truth and integrity.

A thirsty soul

My angels and guardians surround me with loving guidance and protection. Their elixirs of healing energy embrace me and I am at peace knowing how very loved and adored I am by the precious helpers from above and beyond. I ground the cosmic beauty of angelic wisdom into the roots of my earthly life.

The Temperance angel stands before us with quiet focus and grace. She reveals the awakened heart of humanity, for at this stage of consciousness we have pierced through yet another veil of illusion.

I am beginning to understand the power of fate and purpose -- at last able to be fully of the earth while infused with spirit.

I explore the essence of life within the realm of birth and death and beyond, for the soul does not confine its adventures to the spiritual plane alone, but involves itself in the great laboratory of experience here on planet Earth. Our task here on Earth is to fully interweave the spiritual dimension with the material; to mix the gold of spirit with the silver of embodied existence.

When the soul is thirsty, it becomes a vessel, ready to be filled and then poured out into new life circumstances. What do you fill your cup with each day? Now is the time to explore this esoteric question. Seal the cracks in your own cosmic vessel so that you may soothe your soul and revitalise your life force.

My Visual DNA

They say a picture paints a thousand words, and it does.

When I came across this on Gabby's blog, I couldn't resist ... I always love a good quiz, but I loved how this was just so visual. Its a great way for not only me, but for others to look below the 'surface'. To see what makes me tick.

This also kind of reminded me of one of Bek's mini-journals which are always so inspiring.

So check it out and have some fun ... I know I did!

Autumn Equinox

NeoTraditionally called Autumnal Equinox or Mabon - Sabbat of the Second Harvest - the Orchards.

Now the days grow shorter, and the nights are cool. The Sun filters through the treetops where the leaves have already started to fall.

In Persephone's story now is the time She journeys to the Underworld - the place of Darkness.

Persephone lures followers down a path into the inner darkness - a first step in the journey of deep healing at the unconscious level. While the surface seems barren and forsaken, new growth unfolds beneath.

SUGGESTED MANTRA: EMPOWERMENT

SUGGESTED AFFIRMATIONS:

  • I am as free as a bird
  • I am free to be myself
  • I accept myself as I am
  • I am good and I know it
  • I believe in my gifts and abilities
  • I release my need to be humiliated
  • I release my habit of self-criticism

GEMSTONES: Carnelian, coral, agate, brown jaspar (orange stones), pink tourmaline

MORE ABOUT PERSEPHONE

Persephone was the innocent daughter of Demeter abducted by Hades and taken to the underworld, where she took on a dark and mysterious persona as his new wife. Although found by her mother and freed on the condition that she had eaten nothing whilst imprisoned, it transpired that she had indeed eaten some pomegranate seeds. She was obliged thereafter to return to the underworld thereby dividing her time between her mother and her dark lover, but later chose to return of her own volition.

HER MODERN ENERGY

It was only in visiting the underworld and coming face-to-face with the darker forces that Persephone discovered her true self. Everyone has a shadow-side – that secret place in the psyche hidden from public view. It’s OK to visit this place occasionally, or to simply ‘be ’ when this darkness imposes itself upon you. Allow it to pass, and it will.

If Persephone's message is striking a chord with you, prepare to do something constructive about taking responsibility for yourself and your life. It is time to stop luxuriating in guilt and empower yourself through honesty. Accept your dark side as an integral and beautiful part of your whole self to achieve unshakeable personal power.

Spend today acknowledging truths, honouring those who are trying to help you, and showing gratitude for all the "good" in your life. Come out from the darkness and turn your face to the light.

DO THIS

Today, write down five things you are grateful for. It could be the sunrise you caught this morning, the toast your partner made you, or seeing children skipping to school - whatever it is that makes you feel glad to be alive.

When you wake up tomorrow, add to the list with another five things. Keep adding to the list every day until your heart is glowing with gratitude and joy - let the healing energy empower you in your new life!

This is the Harvest of the Orchards. The fruits of Spring and Summer's labours are shown to be - it has been a long journey but now is the time for balance... Be thankful.

Tomorrow, I will celebrate Autumn Equinox at Lunation with my sisters.

Blessed be!

The road to self-discovery

The above pic and quote were sent to me the other day, and its so true.

Often we try to be the person others perceive us or want us to be, rather than remaining true to ourselves.

I spent many years trying to aspire to be the person who I thought others would accept and love, only to discover that this 'person' was only a shell. I didn't really know how to be her.

It was only after I had a health scare last year, that I threw caution to the wind and decided to get to know the real me.

This is probably one of the most confrontational things I've every done in my life. Taking a good, long, hard look at oneself isn't a walk in the park.

But after I looked beyond the superficial, and started to look deeper, I liked this woman.

She had compassion, strength and had a wacky sense of humour. I found that I drew people to me with whom I felt comfortable. For the first time in my life I didn't feel like an outsider.

Yes, I'm a little wacky, don't fit any of the usual stereotypes - but that is part of the beauty of being me!

A state of mind

I was pondering today, what it meant to be a woman in today's society, and I caught my self smiling, or was that smirking?

Now, I don't meet the stereotypical tall and svelte goddess image that we all see in the women's glossy magazines, in fact I'm just the opposite. Yet I still feel like a goddess - a sexy, desirable woman with the world at her feet.

Tonight I was having a few drinks with a girlfriend. She's going on a mediteranean cruise in a few months time, and this stunningly beautiful woman with a killer body turned around, pouting and said, "I have to learn how to walk."

Mystified, I turned to face her and replied, "Honey, didn't you learn that 46 years ago?"

She looked me in the eye and said, "Mich, seriously. I have to learn how to walk. I'll be cruising the Mediteranean, I want heads to turn when I walk past."

So she gets up off the couch, and starts strutting around the room: shoulders back, hips forward, chest out, and legs flayling everywhere.

By this time I'm a crumpled mess on the couch in fits of giggles, trying to give her advice. "... no, no, no! Pull up from the centre, one foot in front of the other, slower, less exagerated, stop slouching, don't push your boobs out that far - you do want to arrive at the same time as them!"

I was having a grand ole time, being the couch critique, when she turned to me and said, "ok smart-ass, show me what you've got!"

So I got up and summoned 18 years of ballet training, slipped on my heels and strutted across her living room, swiveled around, flicked my hair and asked, "Did you get that?"

My friend just stood there staring at me ... "Where the hell did you learn that? Oh, you have to teach me!"

So we spent the next 30 minutes strutting up and down her living room, vogue-ing, strutting, and having a right royal time ~ after all we're both goddesses in our own right.

Basically all it boiled down to was good posture and a hell of a lot of confidence, and I was amazed. Here was the beautiful woman who fits all the stereotypical images of beauty and grace, turning to me for advice.

And that's when it all came home ... sexiness isn't about being beautiful and slim. Its a state of mind anyone can achieve. All it takes is confidence and a healthy self esteem ~ two very sexy qualities in anyone.

International Womens Day

Ok, I know this is a little late, but I wanted to acknowledge this day.

Thursday, March 8th was International Women's Day, a day to celebrate women and the contributions they make to our families, communities, and world, often in the face of major challenges and obstacles.

I celebrated this day with a circle of wonderful women at The Goddess Shrine. Hollie led us in a beautiful ritual. We journeyed through the elements honouring Women - our Sisters - and we honoured the potential of every Woman - old and young, black and white, Christian and Witch, Mother and Daughter, Grandmother and Maid...

It was a truly magical and uplifting evening. It was my mother's anniversary and it was a beautiful way to connect with her.

Anyway, I got to thinking about women who have inspired me throughout my life, women whom I admire and who in some way -- be it directly or indirectly -- have helped to shape my life ...

So today, I would like to honour my circle sisters, who encourage me to follow my bliss:

  • Angel ~ who takes on the world and stands firmly grounded
  • Bek ~ whose enthusiasm is infectious, she lights up the room
  • Bronwyn ~ who shows her courage through her vulnerability
  • Jodes ~ who continues to blossom like a delicate lotus
  • Kaylia ~ who stands in her truth and makes me laugh
  • Leonie ~ for her childlike curiousity, innocence and pure joy
  • Lile ~ a calming, grounding energy
  • Vanessa ~ wise and caring

I am blessed to have you in my life as my sisters.

Blessed be!

Infinite bliss

This is my soul card from the Triple Goddess Tarot -- Infinite Bliss. It literally sings to my soul ...

O happy soul, whose body has risen from the Earth which you wander and tread on during your sojourn in this world. Made to be the very mirror of Divinity, you have been crowned with divine imagination and intelligence.
–Hildegard of Bingen

Soul Message: Through the energy centers within my body that carry the life force of the universe, I am in communion with Earth and stars. My thoughts, my actions, my creative vitality, birth the return of the Great Bliss Queen. I shall walk the path of Infinite Bliss. My heart glows with divine love and joy.
Alchemy and Transformation: At this stage of initiation—through regular prayer, meditation, and visualisation—the human body begins to transform into a being of Infinite Bliss. The organs are strengthened and new levels of perception are awakened. The preconditions necessary to attain true peace and freedom have been fulfilled.
Awakening to the Archetype –The Great Bliss Queen of Tibet: The Great Bliss Queen has completely gone beyond the human tendency to solidify and objectify the things of this world. For Her, life is a holographic dance of translucent, rainbow-colored patterns of energy that dip and swirl and interweave. She smiles and laughs because She is fundamentally free, and because She knows that we are, too!
Everyday Encounters: You encounter the Great Bliss Queen in your life when you are fully present and alive in the world of form, while fully immersed in your flaming wisdom bliss. When you dance wild and naked in the moonlight; moan in ecstasy; squeal with delight; sign in sweet repose; or have a good, hard belly laugh at the sheer absurdity and wonder of it all. When you let your heart break open to the agony and the ecstasy, and especially when you discover that agony and ecstasy are, ultimately, one and the same. In short, once you have awakened to your own blissful nature, you encounter the Great Bliss Queen everywhere. There is no place She is not. She is All. All is Bliss.

I am a goddess

When I stumbled upon a fun online quiz that allowed me to find out whether I was a Goddess, Sorceress, Vampyre, Faerie or some other ancient breed, I couldn’t resist! As one would hope I scored well as a Goddess, actually they felt I was 100% Goddess.

You scored as Goddess. You are a goddess. Your constantly helping people with their problems, but you never take time for you. You should try to take some alone time. Take a trip far away, where noone knows you. It will be good for you, because you deserve a break.

This week I can definitely relate that I should take some alone time however most of the time I’m not too bad with the “constantly helping people with their problems, but you never take time for you” bit. I’m pretty good most of the time allowing “me” time -- that’s what being a goddess is all about. Anyway, check out my score:

Goddess 100%
Elf 92%
Faerie 83%
Sorceress 75%
Wolf 75%
Dragon 67%
Vampyre 50%
Drow 42%
Zombie 8%
Shadow Spirit 0%
